Answer: Now, this is partially incorrect. Yes, solar panels do generate energy for 25 years and beyond that but they won't certainly generate if you don't regularly clean your solar panels! In solar panels, small solar cells are connected in series formation, so if any of the cells are covered with dirt or say with bird dropping the internal resistance of the solar cell increases, and due to which heat is generated as a product of the resistance, which in turn, can set your solar panels on fire. Also, Solar panels' performance degrades after ten years with a fall of 10% on maximum generation, with another 5% after 15 years and finally, they are down to 80% after 20 years up to 25th year. So its really important that you clean your solar modules regularly otherwise, they would degrade even fastly.
